Ebony Ceiling effect. Nepotism, structural economic segregation and career opportunity discrimination and stereotyping. UAE/GULF/MENA
Of course, there is a workplace/ work environment culture. The general atmosphere/ temperament of any given work environment. Every organization wants to maintain a tranquil workspace/environment. after all, a happy workforce translates to happy customers, is it not? it is human nature, the more culturally diverse an environment, the more deliberate effort required at coordination. So when organizations try to keep diversity to the minimum, who can really blame them. Well except in cases where particularly scare skill is required. Then there is the need for organizations to protect client/customer perception.
The stereotypical attachment of a particular work, labor, or skill to a specific group of people. The general assumption that a particular group of people is fitting for a particular type of task. An assumption based not on a test of skill, educational qualification, or acquired experience, but purely on just that, generally accepted assumption.
So when job opportunity adverts go out and there is a specification to the group of people required or to be considered for the said role, you want to wonder if indeed, the organization is just trying to maintain a tranquil work environment or basically stereotyping the advertised role. But what do I know, after all, I am no human resource expert.
