Somnambulism, lucid dreaming, astral projection, out of body experience and transferred consciousness.
Netflix mini series, ''Behind her eyes'', did take it to even spookier height now, didn't they? With the whole consciousness switch. Somnambulism (Sleep walking and the effect it might have on both the patient and the immediate environment). The psychological effect of recurring lucid dream. Lets not even start to talk about the repercussion of ever gaining the ability to intentionally transfer and/or separate human consciousness from its physical body. Astral Projection and Out-of-body Experience
The way each sleep disorder was slipped into the plot, as tension builds. Couple of episodes into it, you might put the series down as one of the typical "Cheating husband hooking up with his secretary, obsession type of movie. Then it dawns on you as you dive deeper into it.
For someone who has experienced the lucid dreaming phenomenon, it is even more surreal. Tip toeing around the movie to avoid spoilers and sticking to the lucid dream, astral projection(out of body experience) somnambulism and transferred consciousness. Lucid dreaming and somnambulism are confirmed to be as real as it get, as various studies and reports have been made around the subjects. Astral projection and transferred consciousness however still border around the metaphysical, with no concrete proof in science as of yet. But then you want to consider the possibility of this ever being a reality. It is scary enough with all the cameras, radars and being monitored. you cant even think out your thought in peace without the fear of being target marketed.
For those who have had the lucid dream experience, you would agree that it is really scary. That feeling of helplessness as your mind fights your body in futile attempt for control. When going to sleep becomes a dread.
